Crows Feet fibroblast aftercare: protect results in the first 2 weeks
By Reera skincare by Sahar | September 26, 2026
I’m Sahar at Reera skincare by Sahar in Lake Forest, and the single most important rule after Crows Feet fibroblast is simple: don’t pick, peel, or “help” the tiny scabs. Keep the area clean and dry, protect it from sun (Southern California makes this the make-or-break step), skip heavy sweating, and hold off on makeup for at least 5–10 days.
Quick reminder: My Crows Feet fibroblast appointment is 90 minutes ($250). It’s a plasma fibroblast technique designed to tighten and lift the delicate eye area with minimal downtime, but your aftercare is what protects that tightening while your skin is rebuilding.
First 24–48 hours after fibroblast: keep it dry, cool, and hands-off
Right after Crows Feet fibroblast, your skin is in “seal and repair” mode. I know it’s tempting to baby the area with creams, wipes, and extra cleansing. For the first 24–48 hours, less is usually more.
Do this
- Keep the area clean and dry. If I’ve recommended gentle saline patting, use a light touch and pat, don’t rub.
- Sleep on your back as best you can, and avoid face-down pressure that can irritate the dots.
- Use cool compresses if you’re puffy, but keep moisture minimal. No ice directly on skin.
- Protect your eyes from bright sun when you step outside in Lake Forest. Sunglasses help immediately.
Avoid this
- Sweat and heat (high-intensity exercise, hot yoga, saunas, steam rooms). Give yourself at least 72 hours, and ideally longer if scabs are still present.
- Any kind of picking, scraping, or exfoliating. Even “just one” scab can leave a mark.
- Eye makeup, concealer, or sunscreen applied over open crusts. If it’s not sealed, don’t cover it.
- Pools and ocean water early on. Chlorine and salt can sting and slow healing.
Foothill Ranch clients often plan late-afternoon or early-evening appointments, especially if you need to do errands around Foothill Ranch Towne Centre first. That timing also helps you go straight home after and keep things calm for the first night.
Days 3–7: scabs form, and this is where results are protected
This is the phase that tests your patience. The tiny dots look dry, crusty, and uneven. That’s normal. Your job is to let them shed naturally so the skin underneath can rebuild smoothly.
My rule: if it doesn’t fall off on its own, it’s not ready. Picking can increase the risk of pigmentation and scarring, especially with our sunny Lake Forest climate.
What to avoid this week
- Retinoids, strong acids, and at-home chemical peel products near the treated area.
- Professional services close to the eye area like laser, microneedling, microdermabrasion, or radio frequency facial work until I clear you.
- Botox or a lip flip appointment that pulls you into rubbing or stretching around the eyes. Give your skin a clean healing window.
- Steam, sauna, or heavy cardio. If you’re itching to move, keep it light and keep your face cool.
I’m big on explaining the “why” because it keeps you consistent. Clients tell me they appreciate that I take time to assess skin and talk through what we’re doing, and that same approach applies to aftercare too.
Days 7–14: scabs flake off, sun becomes the #1 risk in Lake Forest
Most people start to see scabs flake off during this window. The new skin underneath can look pink, slightly shiny, or “fresh.” That’s normal. It’s also more reactive to sun.
Once your skin has re-epithelialized, meaning it’s sealed and no longer open or crusted, I want you in a simple routine: gentle cleanse, a bland moisturizer if you need it, and broad-spectrum SPF 30+ every morning. And yes, I still want sunglasses. In Southern California, sun exposure isn’t just a beach-day problem. It’s an everyday problem.
Epidermal recovery timing
You’ll usually feel “socially presentable” before you’re fully healed. Full epidermal recovery can take up to 4 weeks. That’s why I keep actives and extra heat on pause for a bit.
Planning around life
If you’ve got work meetings, childcare, or events, plan for a visible scab phase. Most people do best booking when they can keep the first week low-key.
If you’re coming in from Mission Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita, Laguna Hills, Aliso Viejo, Irvine, or Laguna Niguel, I’m happy to set a simple check-in plan so you’re not guessing day by day.
What to put on fibroblast dots: keep products boring until I clear you
The eye area is delicate, and after fibroblast it’s extra easy to irritate. So I keep aftercare product choices simple. Use only what I recommend for healing. If you’re tempted to add aloe, oils, or random ointments because “it feels dry, ” pause and ask me first.
A simple routine that usually works well
- Gentle cleansing around the area. No scrubs, no cleansing brushes, no hot water.
- A thin layer of the healing product I recommend, only if I’ve instructed you to use it.
- Once sealed, daily SPF 30+ and physical protection like sunglasses and a hat.
If you’re also doing other services in your routine, like a vitamin c facial, deep cleansing facial, ultrasound facial, hydrodermabrasion, microcurrent facial, or even a scalp treatment or back facial, I’ll space things out so your skin barrier stays calm.
When to text me: what’s normal vs what needs a check-in
Mild swelling, tightness, and the scab phase are all common after Crows Feet fibroblast. What I don’t want you doing is waiting it out if something feels off. Let me know if you have heavy swelling, fever, unusual pain, or anything that’s escalating instead of calming down.
"She takes the time to explain what my skin needs."
one of our long-time clients
That’s exactly how I run my skin care clinic. I’d rather you reach out with a quick photo and a question than stress at home or accidentally do something that sets your result back.
Ready for a check-in or next step? If you’re in the Foothill Ranch area near Swartz Drive and Bake Parkway, or driving in from nearby cities, I can help you plan your timing, your skincare pause, and your return to normal routines so you keep your fibroblast results looking clean and smooth.
